Revive Environmental Partners with Northeast Purification Systems to Bring PFAS Concentration and Destruction Services to New England Region of the U.S.

Columbus, Ohio, February 27 2024Revive Environmental, a leader in contaminant mitigation and water treatment, today announced a partnership with Northeast Purification Systems (NEPS), to destroy PFAS chemicals and mitigate further contamination risks across New England. NEPS offers PFAS remediation trucking & logistics services. The partnership combines NEPS’ local waste logistics and hauling expertise with Revive’s proven PFAS Annihilator(R) technology, providing New England organizations with a complete end-to-end PFAS liability management solution.

“We are thrilled to partner with NEPS to make complete PFAS destruction a reality in New England,” said David Trueba, Revive Environmental President and CEO. “Organizations are facing significant risks from PFAS, and this partnership will enable them to responsibly and confidently destroy PFAS, eliminating liability and making water safe for all.”

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are found in many consumer and industrial products. Known as “forever chemicals” due to their extremely strong carbon-fluorine bonds, PFAS chemicals have historically been impossible to remove from the environment.  The partnership between Revive and NEPS will help organizations across New England remove PFAS from inventories, processes and waste streams to avoid fines, shutdowns, additional cleanup and reputational damage as the regulatory environment accelerates around PFAS.

Revive’s PFAS Annihilator(R) uses supercritical water oxidation (SCWO), which leverages intense heat and pressure to break down the carbon-fluorine bonds and destroy PFAS, leaving behind just clean water, inert salts, and nominal carbon dioxide. Revive has been commercially operating the PFAS Annihilator (R) across the U.S. since March 2023.

“NEPS could not be more excited to be partnering with Revive Environmental to provide first-class PFAS treatment services in New England,” said Mark Sanborn, NEPS Partner and Director of Government Relations. “As federal, state, and local governments continue to evaluate the standards they will be requiring for PFAS contamination, we believe the treatment services offered by Revive and NEPS will be an effective solution for public and private sector organizations to meet these new requirements along with the everchanging expectations of the public at large.”

About Revive Environmental

Revive Environmental is a full-service environmental contaminant mitigation and water treatment company, co-founded by Battelle and Viking Global Investors, and is on a mission to destroy PFAS using ready-now, advanced technologies. These patented technologies—PFAS Annihilator® and GAC Renew™—are commercially available and already operating in the U.S. Revive is rapidly scaling and deploying these technologies to isolate, remove and annihilate PFAS chemicals from landfill leachate, industrial wastewater, drinking water, groundwater, and AFFF firefighting foam. In the first-ever deployment of a PFAS destruction technology in North America, Revive’s PFAS Annihilator is running in a continuous operation and destroying PFAS in landfill leachate to below the U.S. EPA’s proposed 4 parts per trillion drinking water standards.
