Revive Environmental’s Columbus Facility Now Fully Permitted to Treat PFAS

We are excited to announce a significant milestone for Revive Environmental: our Columbus, Ohio facility is now officially permitted to begin treating PFAS waste. This achievement marks the first PFAS destruction technology permitted in Ohio and represents our second permitted site in the United States.

Our PFAS Annihilator® supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology delivers broad and complete mineralization of PFAS compounds, effectively breaking them down without producing any harmful byproducts. This new permitted facility allows Revive to significantly expand our capacity to handle PFAS waste.

This milestone results from strong collaboration between Revive, the City of Columbus, and the Ohio EPA to establish stringent discharge standards for effluent water – ensuring clean and safe water for all. This Revive facility will kick off operations destroying PFAS containing aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF) from various state take-back programs, including Ohio and New Hampshire. These statewide initiatives will ensure the responsible destruction of thousands of gallons of fire-fighting foam from hundreds of local fire departments. In addition, Revive will process AFFF and AFFF rinsate from commercial airports and oil and gas facilities undergoing foam transition.

Revive will continue to grow throughout the United States and to leverage cutting-edge water treatment technology to deliver environmental solutions that ensure “Confident Responsibility” for our clients.

“Our Columbus facility is more than just a PFAS destruction center—it’s Revive’s second commercial innovation hub in our nationwide rollout. By harnessing supercritical water oxidation, we’re revolutionizing PFAS destruction to meet our customers’ demand for responsible, complete elimination of these contaminants. This facility is setting a new standard in the fight against ‘Forever Chemicals,’ proving they don’t have to live up to their name,” says Rick Gillespie, Chief Commercial Officer at Revive Environmental.

Stay tuned for more updates on this and other facilities and our work with clients to ensure a safer, cleaner future for everyone.
